1. Internship to get credits in BA, BSc, BCom from next year
- The Times of India (Mumbai edition)
Mumbai: From the coming academic year, internships will be part of all UG programmes in the state’s public universities. Students enrolling even in BA, BCom or BSc will be allowed to accumulate credits by interning in a skill-oriented field relevant to their course. The idea is to expose students to real-life problems and make them employable before they graduate, as prescribed in NEP. While initially it will not be made mandatory, the state government is hoping it will become an integral part of the curriculum in the near future in all universities, reports Yogita Rao.
Educationists say that finding internship opportunities for a large number of students could be a problem, more so in regions other than Mumbai and Pune.
